An affirmation is a positive statement that you say out loud or mentally that strengthens your resolve. It focuses awareness and belief that the statement you are saying has the potential to be true.
Creating your affirmation.
Your affirmation can be personal to you or it can be a general affirmation that resonates with you. There are books and websites devoted to daily affirmations for just about anything goal that you would like to achieve. Be sure to find an affirmation that you can believe in and that is worded in a way that means something to you. Rewrite an existing affirmation if it will flow better for you. Use positive language only to reinforce the positive outcome.
Pick a time that works for you.
Some people say affirmations first thing in the morning, while others prefer bedtime. Some people repeat their affirmations during their workday. Decide on when or how to use your affirmation.
Focus and concentrate.
Clear your mind and say your affirmation with conviction. Repeat it as many times as you feel it is necessary. You may even feel the need to meditate, clear you mind and then repeat your affirmations. Find the method that works best for you. If you say it during the day, then you may find that repeating it internally to remind yourself of that focus is beneficial.
Change your affirmation as your life changes.
Different situations in life call for different affirmations. It’s okay to change your affirmation to suit your needs at any given moment. Just be sure that your new affirmation is strong and reflects the positive change or outcome that you hope to manifest in your life.
